Decrease and non-coercive control of commercial traffic

  • The Challenge

The Municipality of Pavia needed to regulate commercial traffic, which often used to disregard the access restrictions in LTZ areas. Moreover, the technological solutions implemented did’t permit a flexible and accurate regulation of vehicles access. Therefore, the Municipality had to integrate the traditional telematic control of LTZ areas with new access control technologies.

    The Solution

The existing LTZ system, made up of traditional electronic gates, has been enhanced with the new Mobility Gate RFID UHF, developed by Kiunsys and able to identify passes for the loading/unloading vehicles goods and for disabled people, as well as to measure the time of permanence of commercial vehicles in LTZ area.
Each of these two systems is independent, with its own specific functions: Mobility Gate RFID UHFs, installed at every access and exit point of LTZ areas, read the time of the vehcles passages within the monitored areas and send to INES Cloud BE the data; INES Cloud BE provides to elaborate the data time and provides to notify an alert to the users in cases of trasgressions (eg, presence in LTZ outside the allowed time). The traditional on paper permits will be then replaced by those equipped with passive RFID UHF tags.
Besides, Kiunsys developed an innovative and smart technological solution for the management of permits and payments, namely the INES Cloud platform, made up by INES Cloud BE, to configure city permits access and alerting, and INES Cloud FE to ask and to pay via web user reserved area or mobile app Tap&Park.

    How does it work?

Through the app Tap&Park (Android, iOS and WindowsPhone), INES Cloud information and services are easily accessible to users through their smartphones. By using Tap&Park, users can indeed purchase and pay parking tickets and permits for accesing Limited Traffic Zone directly from their smartphones.
